I am surprise by the lack of interest in the very significant move by the China ‘s sovereign wealth fund to move its multibillion dollar investment from the US Treasury to a "collaboration" with Intel Capital. The chief investment officer of the China Investment Corporation (CIC) stated thet "We look forward to working with Intel Capital to identify the next generation of ground breaking technologies."
The immediate effect of this extraordinary collaboration is a sudden increase in the liquidity (i.e. value) of Intel’s $9.5 billion illiquid investment. In addition Intel Capital will be transformed into an Investment "advisor" for China, that is associated with a very significant earnings that does not require building of Fabs and payment of salaries and bonuses.
