Perhaps your company got stomped on. When we settled in US, the natives were pretty much screwed. In the larger scheme of things, we don't consider US immoral. The history of the world is not written for the rehabilitation of losers. If a trend works well for the world, the trend-setter is regarded positively. In my mind, Microsoft has contributed to the advancement of a very important technology in a very important manner. It doesn't really matter whether they did it immorally. History will judge it well - you on the other hand won't be remembered.
