I'm poor and I couldn't disagree more. (My net worth is negative, I think I can safely say I'm poor.)

Growing up I've had more obstacles to face, but that's life. Government wealth distribution makes me sick. It might help me in the short run, but the in long run is damaging to everyone.

I'll change subjects before I stop writing, this is starting to go into politics, IMO.

As for wealthy kids being smarter than poor kids I recommend reading "The Bell Curve." It presents evidence that genetics are a strong factor in intelligence. Not suprisingly, intelligence is strongly correlated with earnings potential.

In my experience it has more to do with work ethic. I've known many incredibly intelligent people who've not gotten very far in life because finacial success is not a top priority.
