You misinterpreted what ETrade said. It will take 3-5 days for them to transfer your shares to the TA. the TA then will send you a confirmation by mail. Once that is done, you then must request your shares be converted to certificate form and pay whatever fee the TA charges; typically $50.00 - $100.00. You'll be lucky to complete the process in three weeks.

If you should decide to re-enter the market in order to sell your SPNG shares, good luck. I believe you will find that many on line brokers will be unwilling to accept certs on SPNG. It is just too much trouble for them and the potential liability vs potential profit to be made makes it not worthwhile.

Do as you wish, but check out both sides of the equation before you paint yourself into a corner which you cannot get out of.
