I like the "just happened to hire" scenario. Because I too believe that there is more to this than 4 very connected guys coming out of retirement to work for a small biotech that has no promise.

In one of my wild speculations, what I could see is the eventual placement of these individuals in more strategic positions as milestones are met. All this as big pharma looks on and starts to salivate at the potential of Peregrine actually having the audacity to try to go it alone by doing small backroom deals with inconsequential companies to raise enough cash to start the ball rolling.

Peregrine did not just happen on these guys, in my uninformed opinion, they were offered to Peregrine as part of the future deal. Inside guys who can keep big pharma posted on any new developments.

The big product, in my opinion, Bavituximab, will go for a big money partnership. The team is already in place who will bring it about, and take over when the big money comes in the door.

Look for King to become the CEO and Chabner or Garnick to take over as president. Wall street will love it.
