The point of my post to you was to say that I was glad that you finally acknowledged the need for government. The fact that we have a lousy one (Democrats and Republicans) is too bad, and I agree with you. However, we would most probably have a totally different view on what kind of government is good government.

all you Gov Lovers tell me... who are a few of the representatives you see doing a really great job for us in D.C.?

I agree and disagree. It's kind of like saying that we shouldn't have police departments because there are plenty of bad apples in them (which there are). Well, let's face it, it's better to have police departments than not. Would I be happier if every officer was squeaky clean? You bet I would. Will it ever happen? No. The same goes for government.
