I've read all the posts from the SpongeBob 10th Anniversary period (when the Walmart debut was supposed to occur), and can't recall anyone suggesting that.

However, when the promoter's self-imposed Walmart deadline came and went, the Longs excuse was how expensive Walmart would be and that the margins demanded by Walmart would put SPNG seriously in the hole. Go back and read.
