Great. You appreciate the need to protect against corporations who control our food and drug supply, the need to regulate the financial markets, and the need to protect against crimes and other threats.

I think we can agree that the thing all of these groups have in common is that they regulate or protect against things that affect our daily lives.

I'm not sure why you choose to leave energy needs off the list, then. Or health care, for that matter, other than the fact that they aren't on the list today. However, that doesn't make them any less important, nor does it mean we don't require protection from the government against special interests in these areas.
