Vale also does precious metals!
Precious Metals
Precious MetalsWith two per cent of the world’s newly mined platinum-group metals derived mainly from our Ontario ores, Vale Inco is the third largest producer outside South Africa and Russia. Vale Inco is also one of the world’s top three producers of these metals from secondary feeds, helping to ensure environmentally safe and efficient recycling of these valuable resources.
Apart from the well-known applications in jewellery, platinum-group metals are used primarily as catalysts and electronic components. In addition to platinum, this group of metals includes palladium, rhodium, ruthenium and iridium. Vale Inco also produces gold and silver.
* Platinum is available as a rough crushed sponge with a guaranteed minimum purity of 99.95 per cent and a typical purity of 99.98 per cent. It can also be produced as a nominal 100-troy-oz. fully machined ingot.
* Palladium is offered in the same forms and purities as platinum.
* Rhodium is available as a finely crushed sponge minus 22 mesh, with a guaranteed minimum purity of 99.90 per cent and a typical purity of 99.95 per cent.
* Ruthenium is available as a finely crushed sponge minus 22 mesh or minus 200 mesh, with a guaranteed minimum purity of 99.90 per cent and a typical purity of 99.95 per cent.
* Iridium is available as a finely crushed sponge minus 200 mesh, with a guaranteed minimum purity of 99.90 per cent and a typical purity of 99.94 per cent
* Gold is available in a grain form with minimum purity 99.95 per cent and typical purity 99.99 per cent.
* Silver is available in either nominal 1,000-troy-oz. bar form or in grain, both having a minimum purity of 99.90 per cent
So it to could be JV in gold as well!
Who knows they could even buy the other gold mill down the road!
