I'm not trying to be a sideliner. I'm just saying your criticism isn't pointed in the right direction.

You say, "See, I told you that the Climate Change hoax is ruining the world!"

When you could be saying, "Look, people are using biofuels the wrong way - let's try to fix that with some better regulation."

The problem with the first line is that it just isn't true, and it unfairly attributes misuse of technology to what may be a serious scientific debate. You may not agree with Climate Change, but there is a lot of data out there that can't all be explained away by either side. We need to look at it carefully.

On the other hand, you have a potential alternative fuel, that not only relieves pressure from carbon emissions, but also provides an alternative energy to oil, a business opportunity in the clean energy economy, and a way to dispose of all the unused crops. Climate Change doesn't even have to be part of the conversation.

Don't scoff at those things as if they aren't important, because they are. We *want* oil independence, we *want* new jobs, and we *want* to lower costs for businesses disposing of unused crops. Biofuels is the right solution for that, and if the overhead means to tighten regulation on businesses buying from farms expanding into the Brazilian rainforests - well, hell hogsgeteaten - that's a pretty easy solution to the problem, rather than throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
