Hogsgeteaten, I think we can all appreciate the need to defend the Brazilian rain forest and its biodiversity, but I found that this article unfairly puts the blame on biofuel as an energy source, when it's really a fault of the consumers of this fuel. People should know what fuel they are buying, and not support sources that come at the expense of the Brizilian forests.

Biofuel research is supposed to be a clean energy when its used in the sense of recycling crops and sugar sources that aren't being used otherwise. It is supposed to be a skimming-off-the-top kind of technology that solves one problem of disposal of unused crops, and another problem of an alternative fuel source.

It was never supposed to be a reason for farm expansion, especially in areas that should be protected for their natural resources. It's both ironic, and depressing.
