Was the OCC involved in the WAMU takeover by FDIC/JPM? Thought it was OST. I'm not saying they are blameless because ... well ... they are regulators and they don't always get it right.

Ten+ years back, I worked in the investment/banking business and our Chairman had previously been at a local bank that was sold off by the OCC. Their lead auditor was a total b***h who just had it in for them and was relentless in her search for wrongs to write their rating down. Those wrongs could be as minor as not dating a contract or misfiling documents. They have so much power ... not always for good!!
