most of the insurgent forces are Al Qaeda from OTHER COUNTRIES and former elements of the ruling Baath party.

This is not a grassroots movement by the people of Iraq to get us out of there. this is an extremist fringe, most of whom are not even Iraqi.

Their presence there, by the way, speaks to the importance of this conflict in changing the middle east.
