The thing about MJNA is Bruce Perlowin aka King of Pot is the CEO. He is radical guy and a product of the 60's. If there is one thing he knows is how to make money off marijuana. I have heard him say in interviews he wanted to have people vote with their dollars so this is one way he could make that happen through HESG. He has also said he is out to save the world. By allowing enough people to get involved he would be able to shift money flows to a different type of investor.
