jhd... I don't know what these guys are up to. These attorneys have their entire careers and credibility at stake here. Is there the typical schmoozing going on...of course. They probably tee up at the same private golf courses and tip 'em back at the same social events.
Weil doesn't need to pull any sort of power play here. The law is the law. I'm very certain that these parties are well aware of the impending circumstances here, and they are all feverishly (at this point) working to close that deal.
If I were any one of them, my concern wouldn't be what is currently on or off the table. My issue would be putting this to bed real quick in a as smooth a fashion as possible so as not to prolong this beyond any reasonable measure.
As much as we like to voice our opinions about the games that MM's play... it's really not a whole lot different in life on the street...and I think we've seen some of the despairing in a number of stories. Those stories will be represented in some measure by the members of the EC. The threat of that recurring theme of "no equity" to common people..people on the street...that is in desperate need of change. To be honest, If I was one of these attorneys, I wouldn't want to deal with this thing any longer than I absolutely had to.
I know this sounds sick...but the destruction of WM has played out once already...if it happens again in the face of what is before us...will be catastrophic. I don't think who I'm in bed with would necessarily be my immediate concern.
