I have an Archaeological Study Bible. It has the Ancient Flood Narratives in it. Atra-hasis is mentioned. If I want to know more I have to See 2"Humaniy and the Divine: Comparing the Bible to the Myth of Atra-Hasis on page 1176. I'm not doing it. All these myth stories are so jack backwards for me.
You might like an even earier version, known as the Eridu Genesis with Ziusudra. lol I'm not reading anymore about that story either.

Moving right a long. I went to google. I can't remember what I typed in. It's late. I found this site. I don't know if it's reputable or not. Never been there before. Not my bag. Anyway it said, "I also found the shape of the anomaly appears to fit on a circle. I am not sure what this means, if anything, but I find it curious."

In the NIV Study Bible Gen.6:14 the footnote says. ark. The Hebrew for this word is used elsewhere only in reference to the basket that saved the baby Moses. (Ex2:3,5)

My guess is maybe?Gen 7:11 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.

(Who would know what "all the fountains of the great deep broken up" would look like then or now.)

Now I'm not saying this site or what it says is true. I just find this topic interesting. I have read two books on Noah's Ark over the years and just a few weeks ago picked up another book at a used book store.

BTW The Bible says "the LORD shut him in" Gen.7:16
