"Is uveitis a serious ailment? Is it easily treatable?"

The uveitis I usually see is related to viral infection or idiopathic (euphemism for hellifino), but it is associated with some rheumatologic diseases. It seems to be easily treated with steroid drops and resolve without permanent problem. But, ophthalmologists usually treat and followup these patients, so it could be that I don't ever hear about the nasty cases with bad outcomes.
