We were supposed to get a PR Monday. It was all over the board last week. That info came from the company via a few good posters here. On Monday, we heard that the PR was postponed because the company was having their lawyer sign off before they could announce the news. They told us we'd see that PR at 6:00 AM on Tuesday. It did not get released until later on Tuesday as we all know.
The PR was released saying the company is now trying to open new business relations in Colorado.
Think about it. This was news that was discussed ad nauseum on our board. Why on earth would the company even call a lawyer about this?
I believe this was in no way the news that they wanted to release. The news they had must have been compelling and their lawyer said, "No way, you cannot announce that yet." The company had already told everyone that news was pending so in an effort to appease shareholders, they released news that everyone was already aware of.
My own guess is there is a PR waiting in the wings that could get some brokerages in trouble. My guess is it has to do with the OS and when that news is released there will be a lot of explaining that needs to be done by brokerage houses coast to coast about their use of phantom shares. It would also explain why ST and TDA have decided to stand clear.
