Kindly substitute "printer" for "publisher" in the post to which this responds.
The two journals of which I was Editor-in-Chief were the publishers. I selected the articles for publication, and sent those articles to the printer to be formatted in Journal form and to be ultimately printed. I gave the OK on the letterpress version of one Journal or offset pre-proof version of the other Journal once the entire Journal had been proof-read by me and corrected as necessary by the printer. The printer entity then printed and mailed the journals to subscribers, of which there were ~2000-4000 at that time. We had a computer whiz lady who did a superb job of formatting manuscripts in the appropriate journal page size for the offset process.
I did this in evenings and weekends while working full-time in other jobs, with help from family and friends or Associate or Contributing editors as needed.
