Ask SS to send you a report of what you have paid into the SS and medicaid, they will also report to you your employer contributions, the internal rate of return in my calculations is less than 5%, if you include the many years in which treasuries paid between 5% to 8%, your sum total should be at least 5 times what you paid in (money doubles about every 15 years at 5% per annum, but it takes only 10 years or so to double at 7%). The calculation is more complex since in the early years, the ceiling was much lower than the current $75,000 or so, yet we had peak long term treasuries at 16% plus in the early 80' which should compensate for that.
