Mariner... do I have tales to tell!!

What started out as a comedy of errors turned into a wonderful adventure in Salt Lake City. I have a relative there who is a fireman (first time we met up with him was a couple of years ago when we had a very long layover there...he was on duty but invited us to the firehouse where we had an excellent dinner. Then a call came in, he told us to get on board so there we were living a childhood dream roaring through the city with sirens blaring!!!!!!! (not to a fire but a medical call which fortunately turned out just fine.)

Anyway, this time he wasn't on duty but we did enjoy a fine dinner, had a great visit, spent the night and left early the next morning for Spokane. Everything was loads of fun until Christmas night when I started feeling sicky.

Gotta thank the weather gawds for that awful storm in the midwest for the change of plans AND the reason why the airline waived their fee. Everything went rather well...considering!

Coming back was a bit of a nightmare though as security was extra tight... I was pulled off to the side twice (due to a metal zipper) for a pat down. I really didn't mind that part but it did cause delays in most flights. We were over an hour late getting into San Antonio which ordinarily wouldn't matter but I wasn't feeling all that well to begin with so I was kinda grumpy at that point.

But all's well that end well, I'm home with my kitties, the weather is cool but not icy cold and I'm now a happy albeit still kinda sicky camper!

Oh, the link. Am very familiar with Lemmon which is just across the state line from N.D., prox 90 miles from my home town. Confession time: I never did like beer but still would join a group of kids from time to time to make that long drive just to drink 3.2 beer albeit we were all still under the age of 18. North Dakota law was age 21 but Montana (68 miles away) and South Dakota got a lot of business since the legal drinking age was 18 in both states.

Funny thing - nowadays I wouldn't walk across the street for a beer! LOL
