Re: Hopes Up for Sanofi Obesity Drug

Help me out, somebody, please. I am trying to learn something about Sanofi-Aventis.

(I am thinking about a combined purchase of some NSTK and Sanofi-Aventis as a play on the likelihood that one or both will be successful developing obesity drugs)

But, looking up Sanofi, leads me to SNY ticker (which I always assumed was Sony). It apparently merged with Aventis AVE) in Aug. Yet both tickers continue to trade with varying charts. So, can someone help me understand this company(ies)? If Accomplia is truly part of Aventis, then even great success of this drug is not likely to have a big effect on such a huge company.
