Sorry but the SEC does not initiate investigations off NYpost articles. I know people who were in discussion with the SEC in regards to SPNG long, long before the article. It is a complete misrepresentation that has 0 evidence to say the article had anything to do with the investigation. The only thing the article may have affected is the speed of it.
