What is more interesting is what percentage of healthcare-premium dollars is being expended on medical care?

For the US health-insurance industry as a whole, the number is almost certainly in the 80’s.

A related question: What proportion of total economic output* in US healthcare goes to the actual provision of medical products and services? I addressed this question loosely and anecdotally in #msg-39056427.

*Defined in the same way as GDP.
