We should have gone short, gone on a LONG vacation away from any computers and just let nature take its course.

Just think about it. All the pairs we looked at and identified the coming bear runs...GU, the Beast, EU, USD/CHF...we nailed all of 'em weeks ago.

The big boys have us there. They pull the trigger and come back two or three months later (or longer), pocket the cash, wash, rinse, repeat.
