I liken it to sports. When you watch the NBA draft, you see a team that has an All Star point guard, and they draft another point guard with their #1 pick.

Fans ask why. Why? Because you take the best player on the board. That player adds value to your team and he gives you more movement possibility/ liquidity (ie, more options)

Fans again will say: well you only have so many minutes in a game, and you can't play them both. The GM doesn't plan to, he has a business plan.

Deros has a business plan that we are not completely privy to yet, but this just gave him A) more value and B) more options. You pick up value/talent where you can.
