Peoplemarks mean how many people have added a poster to their favorites list.

There are many reasons people add someone to their favorites list, and they are not always positive reasons.

For instance, admin might add someone to their Fav list to watch their posts, because the poster is a trouble maker.

As far as boardmarks, almost the same applies. When a member adds a board to their fav list, they want to see how high a stock might fly, or when it might crash and burn.

Almost all penny stocks fly high at least once and then crash and burn.

As far as a formula, no calculations involved. One peoplemark or one boardmark equals one member added them to their Fav list.
