As I said...I was curious because true cowboys are a breed unto themselves.

A lot of people including my own family have this idea that Texas is different from other states. It isn't...it's just bigger and because of its size, probably the most diversive.

The Indian Wars plus the history of the fight to become a state contributed to the legends. And, boy howdy...we do have our legends!
