Hello to ya masko, its good to meet ya and welcome.

By saying, reading other texts, im guessing you are talking about books of other religions. Such as the hindu vedas....Jewish torah...muslim qur'an.

Im no expert on things but i will try and answer your question as the Holy Spirit leads me to.

God..that be the one and only God of the Holy Bible. Has given EVERY human a "free will". To do what we want...when we want..and how we want. We can choose to believe in HIM or not....we can live a good godly life in service to HIM...or.... live a addicted hell raising life. We can be as good...or as wicked as we desire. But in the life we choose to live...we are also choosing our eternal destination. Meaning. God even lets us choose if we want to go to heaven when we die in body....or we can choose to go to hell. All for Eternity / Forever! Contrary to what many believe. God dont send us to heaven or hell....HE lets us choose for ourselves.

NOW...im not saying that any of that pleases God....God finds great joy when we choose to live for him...and God finds great disappointment and sadness in seeing millions and millions of folks to turn their back on HIM. God loves EVERYONE...all the time....but what we want to do...when we want to do it...and how we want to do it....its all our choice.

So by that i mean this. As a born again believer....(christian) if you will. God will let me do anything that i want....BUT...there is a price to pay. God will discipline me....God will allow trials and sickness and all sorts of stuff into my life to get me on...and keep me on...the narrow path that he has set aside for me. And as a born again believer....(christian)...i should have no desire to read all that stuff such as the hindu vedas....jewish torah or muslim qur'an.

My focus is on the one and only God...the great "I AM"....what i can do for HIM...what he desires of me...My desire is to Read the spoken word of God in the Holy Bible......I have no reason to want to read the books of gods that do not exist in the 1st place. Reading those books is no different than picking up any other book of fiction and reading it....EXCEPT...by reading them ...it gives satan an avenue to step foot into someones life and fill them with even more lies and deceit to keep them away from God in the 1st place....or to corrupt a believers mind so that they step out of Gods will.

So...my long winded answer....LOL.....God will let me read anything i please....BUT....i should have no desire to read them first of all...and secondly...i have a hard enough time staying on the narrow path without putting a bunch of stuff of satan and the world in my head through those kinds of books.
