"Do you seriously think that Bush sitting in a classroom had anyhting to do with our response time/ The idea that anybody could actually beleive that is mind boggling and shows a complete suspension of any critical thought. If hed jumped up and ran out of the classroom, what could have been accomplished? DO you really think that the president is the one who handles operational military details? UFB"

He IS the Commander in Chief, no? He damn well should have a pretty good idea of how to respond to a military crisis on a basic tactical level. (Perhaps he was just awaiting instructions from Cheney...??)

I mean honestly, can you envision any other president in the modern era--Eisenhower, Kennedy, Nixon, Carter, Reagan, GHW Bush, Ford (well...maybe), Clinton-- not dropping whatever the hell they're doing at that precise moment and picking up the goddamned phone to find out who and what and why and issue some kind of executive order, or at least put into place the wheels of motion to provide some answers and make sure the proper people are on the job? We're talking critical moments here, pal, where a moment lost could mean a difference between life and death. He is supposed to be our LEADER, and as the title suggests, a leader should lead. As regards the above sarcastic comment vis a vis Cheney, I was (sadly) less than 1/2 kidding.

Truly it is these kind of responses from Bush apologists such as yourself that is UFB, as you so quaintly put it.
