BAGHDAD, Oct. 30 -- Eight U.S. Marines were killed and nine others wounded Saturday in the Sunni Triangle area west of Baghdad, the military announced.
It was one of the highest U.S. casualty figures in months to be announced in a single statement by the military, though it was not clear whether the losses stemmed from a single incident or several.
