i agree that apple is a mystery at this point. in the past they've had the luxury of chosing their own intro timings with ppc. the intel treadmill is a bit different.
iirc, they did some specials with intel in the past on packaging with c2d.
but if they don't stay "on the pipe" i think a bit of the bloom will come off the rose.
