Please notice the placement of the product (shammy) 1jk1.
This is an outside vendor that supplies these "clip strips" to local retailors, and has nothing to do with Publix buying SPNG products. These "clip strips" are located in every aisle throughout many supermarkets, and are supplied, merchandised, and stocked by an outside vendor. Pay attention to all the crap you see on these the next time you visit your local supermarket.
Here is a few that I have seen, and they all deliver minimal sales.
A bread cutter to make heart shaped sandwiches.
Super balls that glow in the dark
Strainers
Can openers
Cat food can covers
Playing cards
Kids toys of all kinds
I hope you get the idea, and they are all overpriced crap.
It is just another way to get customers to buy stuff that
they didn't intend to buy when they first walked into the store.
I guess it works minimally enough to keep the vendor in business, but for how long in this tough economy is another question. Funny how Shaw's, Stop & Shop, and Giant hasn't got these goldmine SPNG items in their stores yet.
