Lets start from the beginning, Biocentric Energy Consortium, Incorporated was started 15 October, 2007. Its mission was to sell organic Oils for bio diesel. No one has any idea what was spent here in R&D for extraction and conversion to oil. Not to mention much of this industry at this time was sharing and pirating information in developing better ways of extraction. A good barometer to use is Archers Daniels and Midland, a hometown company from where I originated, the process of turning corn into ethanol has been both shared and pirated.
Then about 19 months ago Biocentric Energy Algae, LLC, was incorporated officially 24 April, 2008. At that time they were a private company, money was being spent to develop their Photobioreactor. No one has the financials spent in developing the PBR, and no information of if it was another entities idea that could not come to fruition and this company brought it to reality. The companies original intent was to sell PBRs and the accessories to harvest, oil extraction, and a few other ancillary cost reduction attributes.
Seven months later they go public, and officially become BEHL a public traded company. In their initial Official financial release statement it states over $495,000 was spent in R&D from family money. This cost was current as of 15 July, 2009, add into that $15,000 for further costs since July it becomes apparent they have spent a half a million of their own money in R&D alone. Not included in that price was information at the cost of other entities paving the way for this project to come to light.
So once again you are bitten by your lack of research, and have made a hasty generalization, you spend much more in R&D at the point of inception and costs gradually dwindle down when you get closer to releasing the product. By just this information alone they have spent over 5 times in R&D then the travel, meals, and other associated costs that come with marketing. Marketing will continue to garner more money as the days pass on. You must hit the target audience and get the product out in front, this will continue to increase until they reach saturation.
This is why I do not want to waste my time spoon feeding you such easily accessible information. But at the same point you seem to think you had found a subject that I have no idea about or wanted to defer because I could not argue it. As it turns out I had to break out the ladle for you to show how ignorant you are to this company to make such irrational and unfounded statements. Fix the lack of information and draw a better conclusion, use logic, use critical thinking and stop thinking with your gut and emotions. Patients is needed, nothing goes as planned, and if you do not think it will happen plan for it anyway.
