Bottom line is that the carriers want an indirect ecosystem in order to monetize this space. CTIA wants proprietary and indirect and IMO, is about to award the Clearing House and Registry to NeuStar. The OMA, GSMA & GS1 are all in support of the indirect method.


There are greater forces at work here and the efforts of an ex Google engineer will not matter in the grand scheme of things.
