Most people I know think the board has been weak, a legacy from
the Sanders regime, but now I suspect His Excellency Waleed Ahmed Al Mokarrab Al Muhairi representing a direct 20% ownership stake in AMD and speaking with the voice of Abu Dhabi with respect to ATIC, GloFo, etc. has real clout, should he choose to use it. Kind of interesting that in any negotiation between AMD and GloFo - Abu Dhabi is on both sides of the table. 20% is a big piece and used properly can give a lot of control.
