Its very funny you mention that Yesterday the very thought crossed my mind! Wasn't till I saw what the contaminants were that I became more suspecious. Originally I thought perhaps particles from the glass vials (I believe UTHR had that happen with Remodulin recently) or something similar. The fact that they are having so much trouble discovering the source of the contamination too seemed suspecious to me. I am not a big fan of Genzyme's but find it hard to believe they would have repeated problems like this when much smaller biotech's do not.
So the question is who would do that. Disgruntled employee, competitor, investor? Unfortunately the patients suffer from this regardless of the cause.
