In response to your post, I am in agreement with Piecemaker when he posted the following:

You certainly have valid reasons for your distrust. CPT shares those concerns, Harry has been inventing and patenting since the late fifties. He knows a thing or two about patent protection that he's learned the hard way.

It is precisely this distrust that is motivating this move to China.

If CPT has a Chinese partner with skin in the game, that partner will be motivated to protect his asset (the Cyclone engine). It would be Chinese fighting Chinese, not Americans coming after the them, which I agree, is a fool's errand.

If no relationship is established there, then CPT runs the very real risk of someone buying an Engine here and reverse engineering it there. As you pointed out in the case of the Jeep, that could be disastrous for CPT.

So, IMO, this is very shrewd move on CPT's part.

This is the best and safest way to open up a huge market.
