In principle I agree with your method, I think most of the people who try to time the 'swings' end up breaking even because half the time they need to buy in at a higher price with their trading shares...Throw in the tax considerations of short-term gains/etc and its probably not that advantageous. Especially when your position sizes are so large that they move the market in these low-liquidity securities.
I do it partly because its fun (laugh), gives me the illusion of making money, and it helps keep me connected to the stocks.
