ziggy, you don't even know what i believe and seem intent on telling me what i believe. that's why i quit responding. but, now you kind of pissed me off.

if you actually read my post, i said its the short chain carbs that are the problem. sound familiar?

i am 38 and have been heavily involved in the fitness lifestyle since i was 10 years old and first set my eyes on Arnold. i have competed in bodybuilding and have won bodybuilding competitions. i am 6'0", 240 and wear a 34 pant. i wear 34 because most jeans are too small in the leg, so i step up a couple sizes.

in terms of diet, i prefer to use my protein to rebuild muscular tissue, rather than attempt to use it as food energy, thereby taxing the liver more than necessary. the vast majority of food that i eat is protein heavy, however, i use carbohydrates for food energy. the glycogen that is stored in the muscles is a much more effective and efficient energy source, as it is readily available when it is needed.

any person, no matter how smart, must simply understand the folly using any one element to an extreme. my diet is balanced. i consume very little fat.

fwiw, i had a measured bodyfat percentage of less than 2% in one of my competitions years ago. i ate over 300 grams of protein per day, 250 grams of carbs and less than 5 grams of fat.

carbs are NOT the problem.
