NVS may not have much of an hcv presence but they have invested over $1B into idix and probably another $1B in other companies e.g. albuferon. hiv i don't think anyone expected nvs to license it, it would have made no strategic sense, i don't recall there being a negative reaction or surprise when nvs passed on that one. Shouldn't have been as much surprise nvs passed on 184 given recent comments by idix about talking to others pre expiration of the nvs option.
