Now that is a job i would really love to have, working on a oil platform in the Arctic Ocean:)
From exploration to oil being pumped i say they can do this in 50 years.
Ran across i stat that was eye-popping; accounting for all russias known accessible reserves, that if they keep production at present level, they would be at exhaustion point in their reserves within less than 20 years.
And overlooking ALL known reserves world wide, the Middle East area still possesses 61% of world's oil reserves---1.2 trillion barrels.
I have heard people say things like well we can just go to places like Indonesia like they have like wow a lot of oil.
However their proven reserves are a drop in the bucket compared to the Middle East.
The oil men that have been scouring and scouring and scouring this planet for a new Great Reserve like in Saudii Arabia are becoming to feel it simply does not exist.
I would have thought the Anarctic would be the place since we know that before it drifted to bottom of this planet, it was once a mass of tropic foliage and plants yada yada.
But i guess it is a little hard to get to:)
