I am (unlike some I could mention on this thread) quite normal, thank you very much, and I'm not the one wearing the thick glasses!

That does remind me of a story however. Years ago a friend and I drove across Canada and up to Alaska in a hippie van. At some point out in the wilderness, we stopped to bathe in the small cove of a big lake. We're both starko and lathering up when we hear this splashing, and round the edge of the cove comes a SWIMMING MOOSE! Well, he saw us, we saw him, and everyone bolted. Unfortunately, the moose apparently couldn't get out of the lake anywhere else, so he swam back again.

So here we were, two starko hippies, covered in soap suds, scrambling pell-mell for the van with a moose galoomphing out of the water behind us. I think he was as frightened of us as we were of him, because he lumbered off into the woods immediately, and did not attack the van (they WILL do that. In Norway every year there are newspaper articles where elk or moose attacked vehicles, often killing themselves and the occupants). Need I say, moose are not my favorite critters? Funny now, but pretty scarey at the time!
