Re: Usually when he says something like Obama has a deep seated hate for white people, there is more to it. He would say something like Knowing that Obama sat in Rev Wrights Church for 20 years with the things he says, a church that gave the racist Lewis Faricon an award last year, tell me it ain't so, but it leads me to believe Obama has "a deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture." Tell me it ain't so! And that could have been in response to a bunch of people calling everyone who criticized Obama, like the tea party protesters as having to be racist.

Assuming Beck was misquoted, what was his point after all that? If you wanted to summarize Beck's comparison of Obama, Rev. Write, and Lewis Faricon in the same sentence, then what is the message that I - as a prospective listener of Beck - should be taking away?

Re: Glen Beck is flippant, he uses a lot of irony and sarcasm. He make numerous humorisims.

If that's how you feel, then I can't object. I just hope the rest of his listeners treat it in the same way. Political satire is often a popular outlet for listeners who are critical of the government, but sometimes even satire can cross a line. If at the end of Beck's program, you feel entertained, then no harm done. If instead, you feel outraged, then how is that anger being directed? Is Beck showing constructive ways to address political issues, or is he just leaving you with a general sense of rage? And if it's the latter, how is that constructive, and how is that balanced?

Re: You can't take his words and judge what he says without watching the show. Unless fairness is not the objective.

Ok, fair enough. I'm not trying to be unfair in my assessment, but it's true I haven't seen enough of his shows in their entirety. What I have seen has been enough to turn me off to his message, as well as the way in which he presents it. If Beck does have a positive message he's conveying, it's being lost in the noise of his more radical statements.
