Sure, you can call it a cross-licensing deal but that's not really what it is. Scanbuy is paying Neomedia to use the Neom IP, and they were forced to give Neomedia free license to use the Scanbuy IP. This is a win for Neomedia and a loss for Scanbuy, and a larger uphill battle for other companies in the space who want to traverse '048 without licensing. Is it good for all players in the industry though - of course. Now everyone moves forward with a clear path.
