PPHM:

The failure to start such trial is due to what?

If PPHM ran a meaningful trial, it would risk having it show that Bavituximab doesn’t work so well. Then the game would be over and the executives might be out of a job.

In short, I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for PPHM to run a meaningful trial. More likely, PPHM will seek to build on its World Record for running meaningless ones.
