You are trying to use pond stats on a pbr, won't work not the same thing. Ponds are stagnant pbr's are dynamic, the water is roiled, all algae gets some time in the sun.

The sun works the same way for all systems. Open pond systems are not stagnant, all of them use some type of paddle wheel system to keep them churning constantly. Light penetration is light penetration, it does not matter what system. Less light, less production, period.
