The Beck Vicks thing? He was joking. He jokes a lot. Dishonest people take the joke and run with it, misrepresenting it because that's who they are.

He was joking about himself and he pretended to put Vicks under his eyes. If you saw the guy do a 4 minute segment with the camera right on his face, and he starts tearing up, you know it's for real and you know he really didn't want to do it.
