Some of you ask why wouldn't a disgruntled shareholder sell their shares and move on. Such a large influx of shares, even if placed in small lots, would hugely depress the stock price. I, for one, anticipated the sale of the company within the next year or so, assuming that we would move on to Phase III trials as soon as the current Phase II's are completed. I'm coming to the conclusion that we will not be starting Phase III's anytime soon, but rather will do more Phase II's, thereby putting off the ultimate sale for an extended period of time. The hiring of Dr. Chabner was carefully worded to include "planning additional trials" without specifying what level trials would be indicated. This will cause me, and possibly others, to re-think my investment timing. The wild card is additional government funding and the reason for the increased hiring at AVID.
