Although the Fed will never come out and say so publicly, a weaker dollar is good for the US economy, provided the fall is not precipitous. One of the key components of US manufacturing revival has been the weaker dollar. I suspect that if it settles around 10% or so below where it is now, Greenspan will be quite happy.
